About the Book:

The Dreads are back.

As a child, Meer Logan was haunted by memories of another time and place always accompanied by the faint strains of elusive music. Now the dreads are back. The past has reached out again in the form of a strange letter that sets her on a search to unlock the mystery of who she once was.

With the help of her father – a Kabbalist, known as the Jewish Indiana Jones – Meer attempts to learn the meaning behind her hauntingly vivid memories. What they discover could reveal a frighteningly powerful secret hidden for generations by one of the greatest composers of all time.

With each step she comes closer to remembering the connections between a clandestine reincarnationist society, a lost flute linked to Ludwig van Beethoven and David Yalom, a journalist who understands all too well how the past affects the future.

David knows loss firsthand – terrorism is a reality that cost him his family. He’s seen every solution promised by security experts around the world – and he’s seen every solution fail. Now in a concert hall in Vienna, he plans to force the word to understand the cost of those failures in a single violent act. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

The Memorist is a literary page turner that races across the Austrian countryside and takes you to a Viennesse tear-gas filled auction house, dusty museums, hidden passages deep within the walls of the secret Memorist Society. It’s a journey through the centuries as Meer unravels the mystery behind her own past lives.

Praise for The Memorist:

People Magazine Pick of The Week

The Memorist is the kind of big, ambitious book that doesn’t fit into the cookie-cutter shape of the typical thriller. Rose’s stylistic mastery is exceeded only by her exhaustive research, the two combining to create a starkly original and brilliantly conceived tale.”
The Providence Journal

“I don’t believe in [reincarnation] but I do believe in good writing, and Rose is an unusually skillful storyteller. Her polished prose and intricate plot will grip even the most skeptical reader. Whatever your views on reincarnation, The Memoirist is first-rate fiction.”
The Washington Post

“Rose tells an ambitious story with The Memorist, a fast-paced tale of suspense torn between two different time periods. Few authors would have the moxie to attempt such a daring story, but Rose pulls it off.”
Chicago Sun Times

“Rose tells [the story] elegantly moving gracefully between characters, between time and place, and building both momentum and suspense … recommended highly to readers who appreciate mysteries tinged with the supernatural.”
Booklist

“Rose’s fascinating follow up to The Reincarnationist…skillfully blends past life mysteries with present day chills. The result is a smashing good read.”
- Starred Review, Publishers Weekly

“Gripping… Rose once again skillfully blends past and present with a new set of absorbing characters in a fascinating historical locale.”
- Starred Review, Library Journal

“THE MEMORIST is a riveting and suspenseful page-turner that throws open a magical door to the past, revealing how history may influence not just our individual destinies, but the future of us all.”
NYT Bestselling Author, Steve Berry
