Author: Barbara deRubertis
Series author Barbara deRubertis’s understanding of how children learn and what engages their imagination has been acquired over her 33 years of experience as a classroom teacher and as an elementary school librarian. She has written numerous books for young children, including the ever-popular Let’s Read Together® series, about which School Library Journal said: “Story lines are silly and inventive, and recall Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat for the building of rhyming words.”
Barbara lives with her husband, Kim, on a farm in Cashmere, Washington, where they raise cherries and pears. Their five grandchildren provide lots of first-hand experience with the antics that inspire Barbara’s stories.

I am such a fan of this author! As an author myself, and someone who worked with Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss), I am in awe those who sit at the mountaintop of writing for children, and Barbara de Rubertis is second to none in this rarified realm. The proof is in the reaction of the readers themselves. My 3-year-old grandson cannot get enough of Barbara de Rubertis. He fishes out the chosen book of the evening and cannot wait for it to be read to him. I’m sure that as he begins to read by himself, he will be dog-earing and wearing out his de Rubertis library. This new series is yet another triumph from an already triumphant children’s author.
